BERNARD RAPOPORT is Chairman Emeritus and Founder of American Income Life Insurance Company, which he founded in 1951. Born July 17, 1917, in San Antonio, Texas, Rapoport attended Thomas Jefferson High School in San Antonio and earned a B. A. degree from the University of Texas in Austin. Bernard Rapoport is the former Chairman of the Board of Regents for the University of Texas System. He was appointed by President Clinton as a member of the Advisory Committee for Trade Policy & Negotiations (ACTPN). He is a member of the Library of Congress Trust Fund Board, National Hispanic University Trustee Emeritus, Horatio Alger Association, Economic Policy Institute, and the Joint Center for Political and Economic Studies. Rapoport is married, has a son who is a professor at the College of William & Mary and two granddaughters, Abby & Emily. Bernard Rapoport resides in Waco, TX.

ROGER SMITH is Chief Executive Officer of American Income Life Insurance Company. Born in New York and raised in Southern California, Roger Smith joined American Income Life fresh out of school in 1975. He quickly excelled as a field agent rising to become Agent of the Year in 1976, his first year with the company. Soon after he was promoted to General Agent then Master General Agent, and went on to become a top manager in both positions.
In 1980 Roger, was again promoted, this time to State General Agent for the state of Arkansas. During his tenure as SGA there, his agency achieved two significant milestones; being recognized as the agency with the greatest percentage over quota, and becoming the first small population state to write over $1 million in Annual Life Premium.
Mr. Smith subsequently became the SGA for the states of Illinois and Iowa building one of the leading agencies within AIL. His agency progressively set and broke numerous production records over the next decade.
In September of 1999, Roger was appointed Executive Vice President of American Income Life. Since assuming the leadership of AIL’s sales force he has instituted a highly successful turnaround which has led to record growth and production for the company.
In January of 2002, Roger was appointed to President and Chief Marketing Officer of American Income Life. Roger lives in Waco, Texas with his wife Dottie and their children Emily and Adam.
